About this course

The CHC51015 Diploma of Counselling is designed for people who are currently working or volunteering in community services or health settings and want to build their counselling skills within a supported role.

The course focuses on developing effective counselling relationships, applying counselling theories and therapies, and supporting clients with personal, social, and emotional challenges. You will learn to work in ways that respect culture, choice, self-determination, and lived experience, while practising safely, ethically, and within organisational frameworks.

Graduates work in defined and supported counselling roles, rather than in independent private practice.

  • Working or volunteering in community services or health
  • Supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and/or other communities
  • Seeking to strengthen your counselling skills within your current role
  • Passionate about supporting social and emotional wellbeing
  • Looking for a nationally recognised qualification
  • Students must be employed or volunteering in a relevant setting to meet workplace-based or simulated assessment requirements.

Face-to-Face Learning
Supportive, classroom-based learning with experienced trainers

Blended Learning
Trainer-led online sessions via Zoom, including live discussions and interactive learning, combined with self-paced study and workplace practice

  • Full Fee (Non-Funded) – $10,000 total (Includes all learning materials)
    Payment plans available on request
